Abstract
What is the cost of basic system services? How can support costs be assigned to system programs? Do current costs vary from system to system? Do they relate to the system funding formula, and if so, what is that relationship? What is the cost of providing back‐up resource and reference support to the systems? These common questions, often asked, were central to a study commissioned by the Colorado State Library.
