Abstract

Education should meet the needs of productive industry. Education is concerned with the development of the whole man, not with fitting him for a particular role in life. Education is one of the most powerful determinants of the evolution of society, and looks less to the individual and his needs in isolation than to the interaction of man with his fellow men. Education, in a shrinking world, cannot confine itself to meeting the demands of a single society and its members, but must be directed to the spread of knowledge, skills, and understanding across the world; the more advanced societies must here help the less advanced, until parity is achieved.
