Abstract

In a world where an increasingly high proportion of business is conducted in English it is becoming extremely important for company personnel to be operational in that language. The training officers of companies are daily bombarded with glossy brochures and promises from teaching organisations and face a bewildering plethora of information. Ironically, whenever a firm is forced to tighten its budgetary belt, language training is often the first cut to be made. What options are open to training officers?
