GE Electromaterials has launched www.GETEKconnect.com, a new Web site portal for printed circuit board (PCB) design in a day. This online design center features breakthrough tools for complex PCB development. Design engineers will enjoy simplified GETEK® PCB design while meeting the cost and performance requirements of high-speed digital, broadband and optoelectronic applications.

Developed using six sigma methodology, this site integrates the life-cycle design process and a platform for supply-line management. It contains signal integrity critical application tools and material models used for validation of interconnect performance for each step in the design life cycle process.

Features of the site include a layer stack-up wizard, impedance calculator/simulator as well as the GETEK® thickness model, which includes extensive high frequency testing up to 12 GHz performed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Another benefit of the Web site is GETEK® customized RF component libraries for use in electronic design automation (EDA) software models. Currently, designers may access a GETEK® specific software kit for use with Pantheon Designer from Intercept Technology Inc. Other customized software models will soon follow from EDA providers, such as Eagleware Inc., Quantic EMC Inc. and ReliaSoft Corporation.
