Legacy Paper

In 2012 we launched the Legacy Paper series. The series acknowledges past contributions to knowledge and places current knowledge in historical perspective. This issue includes the fifth Legacy Paper, which is authored by Patrick A. Duignan, Emeritus Professor at Australian Catholic University. Patrick's work has influenced our understanding of authentic leadership. His paper, “Authenticity in educational leadership: history, ideal reality”, provides an interpretation of the evolution of the concept of authentic leadership. By locating authentic leadership in influences since the 1960s, the paper provides insight not only into Patrick's own contributions, but that of other researchers, theorists and writers.
