Concrete results as mixer production peaks

Abstract

Examines the manufacturing methods utilised by a UK concrete mixer producer – Belle Engineering. Describes how the constant review of manufacturing methods has led to the installation of four robotised welding cells, a sheet metal FMS and CAD/CAM, and the beneficial effect that the system has had, particularly on material utilisation. Concludes that the company now has the capacity and the product to compete successfully as an exporter.
