Abstract

Discusses the factor contributing to inertia concerning the curriculum. Examines the role of FE colleges in any national effort to raise the capabilities of a country′s citizens and the type of environment needed to effect curriculum change. States that the correct conditions are now emerging in the UK and that change is foreseeable. Suggests a method for effecting change to a dynamic curriculum and asserts that automization will be the main thrust of change in the future.
