Human Resources: The Critical Success Factor
Abstract
Regarding the quality of human resources, a turbulent business environment presents, at times, a bewildering array of fundamental challenges. Organisations can no longer cope by making small incremental adjustments to existing practices. An aggregation of major challenges, arising all at once, is forcing a fundamental rethink of human resources roles and responsibilities. The findings of a survey initiated by the British Institute of Management and Aston Business School concerning the thoughts and intentions of those at or close to the top of major UK organisations are examined.
