Abstract

Purpose

This paper's purpose is to show what it really means for a leader to keep the good of the organization in focus and how to accomplish that.

Design/methodology/approach

The paper defines the concept with an example and then lays out ways of promoting an encouraging atmosphere for this to occur.

Findings

The paper finds that the ultimate meaning of “keeping the good of the organization in focus” is accountability.

Originality/value

The value of the paper is in understanding how accountability keeps the good of the organization in focus and how the leader can best accomplish that.
