In and out of vogue: the case of BPR in the NHS
Abstract
The main theme of the paper is the discussion of an inherent, but largely ignored approach to the successful implementation of business process reengineering (BPR) – the operations management approach. Through the use of a case study of a major public hospital in the UK, the paper will demonstrate that effective BPR programmes derive their viability from solid grounding in the area of operations management.
