Abstract

Considers the repair, replacement and decoration of historic sash windows at Uppark, a National Trust mansion in Hampshire. Examines the specific aspects of the project, as well as generic principles and components of sash windows such as proportions, weights, and lubrication. Discusses the particular requirements of secondary glazing when dealing with historic windows.
