Europe's largest manufacturer ASEA of Sweden recently opened their third Industrial Robot Systems Centre at Milton Keynes in the UK This follows the opening of other Centres at Detroit in the US and at Frankfurt in Germany.

There is a large market for new systems and now, following a period of several years in which few revelations were made, ASEA has introduced several new products. Brian Rooks, who recently visited ASEA, reports on all the Robot Division's new developments.

At the Robot '84 show in Gothenburg ASEA Robotics introduced a new robot assembly system. Capable of short cycle times, it also has a series of intelligent peripherals designed to reduce the cost of special engineering. Brian Rooks reports.

Reports on the proceedings of the 26th ISIR (International Symposium on Industrial Robots) held in Singapore, October 1995 and on the 4th Asian‐Pacific Industrial Automation Exhibition (IA ’95) held in conjunction with it.
