Oracle Corporation has teamed with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young to offer support for implementation and exploitation of the Oracle E-Business Suite Information Architecture. Information Architecture is a foundation that provides a single, open, global enterprise data model across all applications which enables companies to achieve a unified and global information management strategy. Information Architecture enables third parties to extend the functionality of the Oracle E-Business Suite and helps consolidate data across Oracle and non-Oracle applications to help improve the quality of information and business intelligence delivered. The key component, the single data model, allows a consistent definition of a customer, supplier, partner or employee across all application modules and the entire enterprise. In addition, the Oracle Information Architecture is global, accessible from any device and easily configurable. In 2001, Oracle E-Business Suite applications were implemented by more than 1,100 companies around the world. This includes the Athens International Airport (AIA) which has implemented the E-Business Suite and the Oracle database to power its end-to-end operations, from internal business applications to the passenger flight information display system.
