Wesupply has implemented a new Internet-based supply chain solution at Cott Beverages UK, a subsidiary of Cott Corporation (the world's largest retailer-brand soft drink supplier). The aim was to give Cott UK increased visibility across its supply chain and allow the real-time exchange of critical information with its suppliers. Through the new solution, Cott's suppliers have 24/7 continuous access to real-time supply chain information, using an Internet browser. The system allows Cott to manage the delivery and receipt of all critical supply chain information. They have a clear view of all goods in transit and are automatically alerted to any potential shipment or delivery problems. As a result, they are reducing average stock holding by achieving more just in time deliveries and through the introduction of vendor managed inventory. There are also advantages for the Cott's suppliers, who gain a rapid and clear view of raw material reqirements, as well as automatic reconciliation of the changes between schedules on a week by week basis. Wesupply provides the service using the application service provider (ASP) model, meaning no investment by users in capital equipment; on-going support is included in the monthly subscription fee. The solution consists of demand manager, delivery manager, invoice manager and performance manager. Deployed together, the solution offers on-line information across a range of business processes including: schedules and forecasts; shipping instructions; shipment confirmation, transportation and packaging documentation (including bar code labels); receipt and acceptance confirmation; invoicing; QA processing and supplier performance.
