Global warning
Science is a remarkably imprecise science – I know that statement doesn't make sense but it's the best I can do at short notice! Are we heading for global warming or not? It seems that the jury is not only still out, it's further out than it was a couple of years ago. Recent views seem to indicate that we may just be going through one of the cyclical changes that occur naturally, and that any long-term trend (if there is one) is still masked by these more regular changes. Still, at least scientific theories seem to last longer than management change techniques!
