Lost time
Millions of working days are lost every year because of workplace bullying according to a recent survey. The survey of 5,500 UK employees across the public, private and voluntary sectors, conducted by the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) and supported by the TUC and CBI, reveals the extent of workplace bullying in Britain today and looks at the impact on staff morale and the economy. The survey results represent the key findings of a three year study on the impact of bullying at work. UMIST will publish a full academic report in November. The survey was funded by the British Occupational Health Research Foundation (BOHRF).
