Let's talk business

US readers might be interested in the fact that Datastream Systems, Inc. is providing support for Microsoft's BizTalk Framework in its e-MRO e-commerce solution. Now almost one year old, MRO utilises Extensible Markup Language (XML) technology with the Microsoft platform, including Microsoft Transaction ServerTM, Microsoft SQL ServerTM and Active Server PageTM technologies. By embracing the Microsoft BizTalk Framework, e-MRO will seamlessly integrate with any MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) parts distribution software that is compatible with the Microsoft e-commerce platform or BizTalk Framework. In addition, Datastream's customers will avoid the costs of custom integration and support for each distributor. With e-MRO, customers can search, select and purchase industrial parts through Internet-enabled Datastream products. e-MRO provides an integrated purchasing system that can reduce item acquisition costs, improve catalog search time, streamline requisition processes, decrease data entry, speed parts delivery time and improve inventory control. e-MRO accesses catalog content through agreements with Applied Industrial Technologies, Fastenal Company and WESCO Distribution. Collectively, these industry-leading distributors dominate the MRO market with 1.4 million parts and approximately 5.5 billion US dollars in annual revenues.
