NHBC, a warranty provider for new homes in the UK, has launched a new partnership to provide home information packs (HIPs) to more than 20,000 registered builders. From June 1, 2007 onwards all new homes will need a HIP and these will add a level of complexity to the information which builders currently have to provide to new home purchasers. Amongst the new information which will be needed include lease documents, landscaping information, useable floor space and the new energy performance certificates, which are a requirement of European legislation.
