Web sites

www.irinfo.org/

Irinfo.org is a content-based web resource and on-line community dedicated to professionally promoting infrared thermography and related PPM, PDM and NDT technologies.

Their web site is split into some nice straightforward headings including technical, tools, IR/INFO Conference, calendar, weather, IRINFO Group and Search. The technical section has quite a lot of information contained within it, publications (lists a number of web sites), applications (a nice little introduction about what thermal imaging can do for you), articles (a list of related papers available to download as pdf's) and standards (a comprehensive list of related standards). The conference section of their web site has full details about their 2008 conference jointly held with the Infraspection Institute from call for papers to registration and schedule of events.

Overall, this is a nice use of a content- based web site with good input from users.

www.infraspection.com/

Infraspection Institute is an independent infrared training and certification firm founded in 1980, Infraspection Institute has trained and certified nearly 10,000 thermographers worldwide. Their courses and applications of thermography are detailed on their site along with a nice FAQ section to get you started this is an informative site of which should be of interest to anyone interested in thermography.

www.tempsensor.net

This is the web site of tempsensor their mission is “to support practicing thermographers with educational, certification and support services”. They provide unbiased information about infrared hardware, applications and program development. The special section of Temperature Sensor Directories of Resources is worth visiting, it contains articles classified into a number of sections including cryogenic, non-contact sensors and another dozen or so categories. The addition of Google advertisements makes this site busy but there's lots of information available and it should be of interest to Sensor Review readers who are interested in temperature sensors.

www.ukta.org/

UK Thermography Association's (UKTA) web site describes their activities which are for all those interested in infrared thermography, “created to support and help unite thermographers”. There site is clean and easy to use, describing it's activities within the infrared thermography area. Its sections include membership, conferences, newsletters, user groups, IR information, training, certification, equipment suppliers, services and article database. Essentially this is a great source of information about their activities and includes plenty of information for those getting started or already involved in thermal imaging research and applications. A visit is to be recommended to Sensor Review readers.
