Lis-perf-measures is a JISCmail hosted discussion list supporting work undertaken in performance measurement in the international information community. The joint listowners are Pat Gannon-Leary and Kathryn Ray, both of whom work at Northumbria University's School of Information Studies. Lis-perf-measures complements Emerlad's Performance Measurement and Metrics journal and is the main means by which contributors to the journal's book review section are sought.
Membership of the list currently stands at 463 from the following countries: Australia; Austria; Belgium; Canada; Czechoslovakia; Denmark; Estonia; Finland; France; Germany; Greece; Hong Kong; Iceland; Ireland; Israel; Italy; The Netherlands; New Zealand; Norway; Peru; Portugal; Singapore; Slovenia; South Africa; Spain; Sweden; Taiwan; the United Kingdom and the USA. If your country is not represented here, please sign up and join the discussions. Not only can discussions be initiated and advice sought by list members, but you may also share data files with members by sending a message to lis-perf-measures-request@jiscmail.ac.uk. Large files can be mounted in a store on-site.
Recent topics under discussion have included the balanced scorecard and the value and/or benefit of libraries. Contributions to these two threads were received from the USA, UK, Spain and New Zealand.
The 5th Northumbria International Conference on Performance Measurement in Libraries and Information Services "Library measures to fill the void: assessing outcomes" will be held in Durham 28-30 July 2003. You should expect associated announcements to be made on lis-perf-measures. Other forthcoming events of interest to members will be advertised similarly. Please contact the list owners if you know of any such events that you think it would be appropriate to promote on the list.
