New online resource for renewable energy education and training

Article Type: Features From: Management of Environmental Quality: An International Journal, Volume 24, Issue 1.

The International Renewable Energy Agency has produced the IRELP portal, a free online resource for renewable energy education and training. IRELP aims to combat limited opportunities for education and training in this area by raising awareness of the availability of such opportunities and making them more accessible in turn. In addition to offering a range of education and training opportunities, IRELP provides a library of renewable energy training materials, a database of webinars, and a platform of electronically supported learning for students and a forum designed to facilitate collaboration between educational institutions.

In providing institutional collaboration, the IRELP forum also aims to assist the development of new educational curricula with a particular focus on programmes in developing countries. Details can be seen at: www.irelp.org/home/index.aspx?PriMenuID=1&mnu=Pri
