The East Midlands branch of the Career Development Group are offering a half-day workshop on the topic of "Personal presentation: the right impact at the right time" on 26 October 1998. Diana Edmonds, of Instant Library Ltd, will lead this session on how to give the right impression to a potential employer. TFPL are running a full day course on "Managing under pressure" on 27 October 1998, in London. Beryl Morris will lead this session on understanding change, overcoming resistance and building commitment, and maintaining your own motivation. The Library Association are taking bookings for a one-day course in London on "Practical approaches to continuous professional development", planned for 11 November 1998. The focus will be on making the most of lifelong learning opportunities and how to identify and overcome barriers and obstacles to development. The workshop leader will be Andrew Gibbons.
