Article Type: Anniversary greetings From: Kybernetes, Volume 40, Issue 9/10

To mark the 40th year of the publication of Kybernetes – The international journal of cybernetics, systems and management sciences, greetings have been received by the editors, the editorial advisory board and to the publishers, from all over the world. They reflect the wide interest in this journal and express the sense of gratitude felt to the Founding Editor, Professor John Rose and to his successor the present editor and to the publishers.

Many institutions and establishments have been kind enough to send their felicitations and to offer their future support. While it is not possible to publish all of these good wishes, we are pleased to be able to include those from the main organisations that have selected Kybernetes as their official journal and others who have supported its publication.

The President (Professor Robert Vallée), Vice-President, the Director-General and the Directors of World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics (WOSC) have expressed their warmest congratulations. When Professor Rose founded Kybernetes, he was also the Director-General of WOSC and regarded Kybernetes as its “house-journal” which offered the means of publicising its contributions to systems and cybernetics.

When he retired in 1987 from the journal, its ownership passed to the present publishers. The Directors of WOSC have since selected this journal as its “Official Journal”. Since 1988, it has continued to include information about the organisation’s activities.
