A site that is well worth mentioning, though unconnected with the foregoing, is used to advertise academic positions in Britain. The address is http://www.jobs.ac.uk, maintained by a Universities Advertising Group. The jobs are grouped under 20 headings. In one "snapshot" visit to the site, in July 1998, the total number of jobs on offer was 599, of which 90 were under the heading of Computing Science. For job-seekers it will be a standard resource, rivalling the appointments pages of Nature.
