Property Internet Research Register

Property Internet Research Register

1999 saw the successful launch of the Property Internet Research Register, sponsored by the Journal of Property Investment & Finance, in association with The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Already the register contains information on research projects as far afield as the UK, Hong Kong, Australia, Chile, Poland and Singapore. Building on this success, from January 2000, the register will extend the scope of subject coverage by incorporating all areas of research published in the following property journals:

Property Management; Facilities; Structural Survey

The above MCB University Press titles will co-sponsor the Internet Research Register with the International Journal of Property Investment & Finance. All journal subscribers, participating researchers, members of the RICS and any other professional organisation subsequently supporting this initiative will continue to enjoy absolutely free access to this important new global resource.

Stephen Brown, Head of Research at The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors will continue as the Internet Research Register editor and his editorial featuring an update of progress to date will feature in issue one of the 2000 volume of JPIF. As Stephen pointed out in his recent IRR editorial, the success of the register relies very much on the contributions of the researchers. The diverse range of backgrounds of those engaged in property research make it all the more important that researchers around the world can rely on a central and authoritative source of information on current research activities. The Internet Research Register aims to provide just that. This resource is for you. Please make use of it and encourage your colleagues to do so too.

The Publisher, MCB University Press, would be interested in hearing your views on the Internet Research Register to date, including constructive criticism and ideas for further extending the scope of the IRR. We would also be interested in hearing from organisations interested in working with us in developing this resource further and extending our partnership with property professionals worldwide. You can send your ideas by post to the address on the inside front cover of this journal or by e-mail either to myself, jpickles@mcb.co.uk or Stephen Brown sbrown@rics.org.uk
