Litre Meter extends global distribution network

Article Type: Industry news From: Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, Volume 61, Issue 5

Leading UK manufacturer and supplier of custom flowmeters Litre Meter (www.litremeter.com) is increasing its global distribution capabilities by signing contracts with three new distributors in the USA, India and Australia.

Litre Meter is now able to supply its products directly through Capita Process Equipment in the USA, Prism Instrumentation in India and Kempe in Australia. The new distributors will enable Litre Meter to supply custom flowmeter solutions directly into new global markets. It will also be able to maintain its service levels in those markets because the new distributors will provide Litre Meter’s end-users with a direct point of contact for parts and service.

US engineering and fabrication specialists Capital Process Equipment will distribute Litre Meter positive displacement meters to its customers in North America in a range of industry sectors including oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, pulp and paper, food processing and manufacturing.

Prism Instrumentation’s network covers the major industrial centres on the Asian sub continent including Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. The company has calibration and test facilities and supplies a range of flow and level instruments including Mass flow meters from Sierra Instruments.

Kempe, based in Geelong near Melbourne, also works in Asia, North and South America, Europe and the Middle East. Kempe supplies instrumentation products to industrial customers in a number of sectors including oil and gas, mining, power generation and manufacturing industries.

Alan Christie, Sales and Marketing Director at Litre Meter, said: “By increasing our global network of distributors we are able to get closer to our customers to provide a more proactive service. Previously we serviced these markets from our UK base”.

“There are also synergies between us and our new distributors. For example, Prism Instrumentation already supplies Sierra Instruments range of flow meters in India in the same way we do in the UK. It made economic sense to form a trade partnership with a company which already has a trading relationship with one of our existing trading partners” (Figure 6).
