BP's integrated oil reconditioning is latest addition to service offering

As part of BP Industrial Lubricants commitment to offering environmentally aware products and services which also provide tangible business benefits, the company has introduced a new oil reconditioning service.

Traditionally the recycling of mineral oils has been viewed as an unpopular method of waste management, with the product often deemed inferior to the original. However, BP Industrial Lubricants' expertise has now made oil reconditioning a much more viable option.

The service offers customers complete peace of mind from a trusted partner. BP has the ability to collect the used product from locations across the UK and then transport it by dedicated tanker to modern reconditioning facilities.

Once at the treatment plant, it is taken for dehydration and filtration and the deposits are removed to a specified cleanliness. The oil is then analysed to see how close it is to the original and top up oils and additives are used to bring it back to a fit for purpose standard. Finally, the reconditioned oil is delivered back to the customer by a dedicated tanker.

The service offers a number of important benefits to customers. Reconditioning existing oil is a lot more cost effective than actual replacement, and reducing the amount of waste will obviously reduce waste disposal costs. Furthermore, with waste management legislation ever more stringent, reconditioning demonstrates excellent environmental awareness on the part of the company involved.

Ron Munnings, Technical Manager said: "The introduction of oil reconditioning by BP is part of the company's integrated service offering which has been designed to make the whole issue of plant and machine maintenance simple.

"Always keeping the environment at the forefront of developments, we have combined aspects such as individual business managers with a comprehensive list of products and services such as reconditioning. BP is committed to offering its expertise to help individual businesses run at maximum operational efficiency".
