An industry milestone has been marked with the news that leading manufacturer of lubricants, die release agents and sprayers, Fenco-Aldridge (Barton), has celebrated its thirtieth year serving the diecasting industry. The company, which also supplies diecasting equipment as UK agent for a number of European and US manufacturers, was founded by Barrie Hinson (see Plate 2) at a breakfast meeting at Glasgow Central Station in 1968. One of the first products supplied by the company was the famous Lo-Smoke range, which quickly established a reputation for consistent product quality across a complete range of oil- and spirit-based lubricants, and has remained a staple product for Fenco-Aldridge throughout its history.

Along the way, the company has established working partnerships with internationally recognised leaders in their field, such as Fondarex SA, Gauss Automazione and J&S Chemical.
In November 1997 the company moved to its current and much larger premises in Willen Road, Newport Pagnell.
