Fuchs Lubricants has become the first lubricants manufacturer in the UK to be QS9000 accredited.
Awarded to the company, after a four-day BSI audit, Fuchs achieved this standard, based on 18 basic tenets, for continuous improvements, and for delivering improved quality products at lower cost to the customer.
Rob Wood, manufacturing director at Fuchs Lubricants (UK) commented: "QS9000 is specified as a quality standard that car manufacturers Ford, Chrysler and GM demand of their suppliers, surpassing Ford Q1. QS9000 demonstrates the commitment of every Fuchs employee to quality and customer service" (Plate 1).
Rob continues: "Setting the quality standards in the lubricants industry is not new to Fuchs, which was the first lubricant manufacturer to be accredited with BS5750 in 1986. Current accreditations include Ministry of Defence AQAP 1, ISO9001, Civil Aviation Authority Test House Status, Medicines Control Agency Manufacturing and Produce Licenses and NAMAS Accredited Test Laboratory".
