The library at the Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in Turkey has introduced a range of new document delivery and interlibrary loan services. These will increase the resources available to students and academic and research staff. Books and articles not available within the university's own libraries can now be provided from other libraries within Turkey or from outside the country.
These services are fully automated and are only available through the computers at ITU, which have electronic request forms for the users to fill in. The university library will reclaim, from the user, the cost of receiving and returning an item from other libraries within Turkey. Users will be able to specify the maximum cost, in US dollars, of interlibrary loans requested from outside Turkey. These services have only recently been made available and are initially only open to academic staff, post graduate and doctorate students.
More information can be found at the ITU library's Web page at: http://www.library.itu.edu.tr
