On 17 April 2009, we received a letter from Elsevier Bibliographic Databases Operations (The Netherlands), informing us that the International Journal of Intelligent Computing and Cybernetics (IJICC) had been selected for coverage in EI Compendex as of 2009. This is really an exciting milestone for the one-year-old IJICC journal. IJICC has also been indexed by Inspec, Scopus, MathSciNet and Zentralblatt MATH. I would like to thank all the advisors and editors for their great support and instructive guidance for IJICC in the past, and also give thanks to the authors and reviewers for their contributions to IJICC. Moreover, we are very grateful to the publisher, Emerald Group Publishing Limited and the sponsor, Beihang University, for the opportunity to launch and publish IJICC.

IJICC is now supported by a dynamic and engaged editorial/advisory team of very distinguished scholars in the relevant fields from all around the world. All the editors/advisors of IJICC are also editor-in-chiefs, editors or associate editors of other top journals. The 41 editors/advisors come from 17 different countries and regions: 11 of them are IEEE fellows, 12 of them are the president or vice-presidents of international academic associations, including Lotfi A. Zadeh, the Father (pioneer) of Fuzzy System Studies and David B. Fogel, the President of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. All published papers in IJICC are consistently high in quality and the geographical spread of authors demonstrates that the journal is inclusive to excellence in research from all over the globe. All submissions are thoroughly peer-reviewed by at least two experts and one editor in the related fields based on originality, significance, clarity and relevance. Only, the papers presenting new research results or successful innovative applications are seriously considered for publication in IJICC. For the time being, the acceptance rate for IJICC is about 12 per cent. All this can guarantee the fast growth and quality of IJICC. IJICC provides an interdisciplinary forum and vehicle for scholars in intelligent computing and cybernetics, who would like to share cutting-edge discoveries relevant to both fields.
