9th Annual Applied Clinical Trials European Summit

The next Applied Clinical Trials European Summit, organised by Advanstar Communications, will be taking place at Le Palais des Congrès in Lyon, France on 22-24 April 2002. Now in its ninth year, the event which has consistently attracted high-level decision-makers from the clinical trials industry, will see over 300 professionals from across Europe gather to network and discuss and debate the latest issues affecting the industry with over 35 top industry experts.

Topics earmarked for discussion include the EU GCP Directive, the impact of ICH, the revised Declaration of Helsinki, subject recruitment, effective SOPs, conducting trials in Central and Eastern Europe, ethical dilemmas, outsourcing, the impact of pharmacogenomics, statistical know-how to improve quality, Phase IV studies, clinical safety data and topical issues in data management. Such breadth and depth of discussion are expected to attract a large and varied audience.

An impressive line-up of speakers will include Dr Michael Keane, Director of Operations (Europe, Australia, South Africa), Pfizer Central Research; Dr Drazen Babic, Medical Director, Novo Nordisk; Siegbert Kloos, Global Head of RDE, Roche Clinical Development; Kenneth Getz, President, CenterWatch; Dr Ingrid Klingmann, General Manager, Scirex; and Dr Anne Verny, Executive Director, Global Development Operations, Bristol-Myers Squibb.

A total of 32 exhibitors will also be present displaying the latest products and services available to make clinical trials quicker, simpler and less problematic.
