Call for papers for the International Journal of Energy Sector Management

Article Type: Call for papers From: International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management, Volume 2, Issue 4

Journal overview

The International Journal of Energy Sector Management aims to facilitate dissemination of research on issues relating to supply management (covering the entire supply chain of resource finding, extraction, production, treatment, conversion, transportation, distribution and retail supply), demand and usage management, waste management, customer and other stakeholder management, and solutions thereto. The journal covers all forms of energy (non- renewable and renewable), forms of supply (centralized or decentralized), ownership patterns (public or private, cooperative, joint, or any other), market structures (formal, informal, integrated, disintegrated, national, international, local, etc.) and degrees of commoditization (e.g. internationally traded, regionally traded, non- traded, etc.).

The journal aims to cover a wide range of subjects relevant to the management of the energy sector, including but not limited to:

  • Management of scarce resources (economic, financial, human and natural), projects, activities and concerns (e.g. regulatory, social and environmental aspects), technologies and knowledge

  • Business strategy, policy and planning as well as decision support systems for energy sector management

  • Business organization, structure and environment, and changes thereto

  • Globalization and multi-cultural management

  • Management of innovation, change and transition.

The journal will encourage applied, practical-oriented, problem-solving research having wider relevance. Formalization per se is not the objective but could be used as a support. Preference would be given to problems with wider relevance across geographical regions.

Coverage

The journal covers any research area relevant to managing the energy sector. Some indicative key areas include the following:

  • Economic analysis of sector management issues (pricing, competition, access, reform, restructuring, regulation)

  • Analysis of sector strategies (strategies by governments, industries, consumers, civil society, international bodies)

  • Analysis of financial issues (investments, revenue management, viability)

  • Project management (appraisal, risk management)

  • Organizational and behavioural analysis of sector participants (firms, consumers, others)

  • Knowledge management and innovation in the sector

  • Issues relating to environment, development and sustainability of the sector.
