Online Information 2003

Information industry professionals from 57 countries gathered at the 27th annual Online Information exhibition and conference: over 11,000 attendees passed through the doors of the Grand Hall, Olympia from 2-4 December to see new information products and services on offer from around 250 exhibitors. The event, which has evolved to cater for the changing needs of the information industry, saw the launch of a number of new features including a new content management event and dedicated information industry awards.

Content Management Europe 2003

The 2003 event played host to Content Management Europe 2003, a launch event comprising an exhibition of around 30 content management suppliers including: FatWire UK, IBM (UK), RedDot Solutions Ltd, Red Hat Europe, Documentum, Stellent, Sitekit Solutions Ltd and Things Prime. The event also featured its own educational programme in the form of showfloor seminars, as well as a specific content management VIP conference. Many of the dedicated showfloor sessions were standing room only and the organizers have increased the theatre size for next year.

International Information Industry Awards

The inaugural International Information Industry Awards took place on 3 December 2003. Hosted by ITN news anchorman John Suchet at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the awards recognize excellence across the industry. Industry figures such as Martin White of Intranet Focus, Paul Blake from 3, Anne Jubert from Ecole Centrale and Steve Sieck from EPS-USA formed the panel of judges who determined the winners of the prestigious awards. Winners included: Arup Structural Skills Network for innovation in knowledge management, KnowledgeBoard for user experience, and Ernst & Young Centre for Business Knowledge Deployment Team for best team in a business environment. Neil Infield (Manager of Business Information Services, Hermes Pensions Management) was named IWR Information Professional of the Year. Sheila Corrall (Director of Academic Services, University of Southampton) received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Online Information 2004 takes place from 30 November-2 December 2004 at the Grand Hall, Olympia, London. Once again, Content Management Europe will run alongside Online Information.
