Compression software

LuraDocument.jpm is high-compression software for scanned colour documents. Produced by Berlin-based Algo Vision Luratech GmbH, LuraDocument.jpm is an implementation of the worldwide ISO JPEG2000/Part6 standard for mixed raster content (documents with bi-tonal elements such as text and images). Using a multi-layer compression technique, text, image and background components are segmented and compressed separately, each with the optimal algorithms (precise arithmetic calculations). In this process, the total data volume is decisively reduced for high-definition scanning, guaranteeing first-class reproduction quality of the documents and images in up to DIN A3 format.

LuraDocument.jpm has been used in such world archive projects as the German Resistance Memorial Center. This institution has used LuraDocument to digitalize its comprehensive collection of photography and documents.
