EXPORTS WE CAN'T AFFORD
Abstract
The Government's inflation subsidy scheme for exporters who undertake fixed‐price contracts outside the Common Market is under a two‐fold attack. Some companies claim that it doesn't offer enough cover against the ravages of UK inflation, while there are warnings that this form of insurance could encourage loss‐making exports — with the taxpayer having to foot the bill. Alec Snobel reports.
