TWO NEW METAL COATINGS:: Copper‐Aluminium and Nickel‐Aluminium‐Molybdenum
Abstract
METAL coatings are mainly a metallurgical subject. It is the metallurgist who will decide whether to use a sprayed surface or bare metal. The question of friction between a sprayed metal surface in moving contact with another surface, however, is in the province of the tribologist. When it is decided to spray surfaces to provide extra protection against wear, and extend the life of a component, then this is certainly a tribology subject.
