Aircraft Wheel Bearing Failures … Why?

Abstract

RECENT post‐accident investigations of an alarming number of wheel bearing failures in high performance aircraft have emphasized the need for a comprehensive and workable procedure for handling these bearings and bearing grease seals to eliminate these accidents.
