RECLAMATION OF USED OILS: PART 6. A COOLANT CLARIFIER : THE PROBLEM OF GREASE RECOVERY : EVALUATION OF TREATED OIL
Abstract
A REVIEW of the treatment of cutting oils and coolants could not be considered complete without mention being made of a comparatively new type of clarifier working on a principle which we have not yet described in this series. In this unit, the filtering medium is continually renewed from rolls of approximately 100 to 280 yards content and the material itself may be varied to suit the particular type of coolant, aqueous or straight oil, in use. The drawing (Fig. 1.) plainly illustrates the construction, the principle of operation being as follows :—
