Abstract

In our issues for March and April, 1950, we included descriptions of automatic chassis lubricators manufactured by Clayton Dewandre Co. Ltd., of Lincoln. These were part of a series of articles covering all known methods of automatic chassis lubrication and they dealt respectively with the Vacuum and Air Operated Lubricator and the R.P. Mechanical Lubricator. We are pleased to be able to give details here of a new design of chassis lubricator now being manufactured by Clayton Dewandre, and capable of feeding up to 72 points. This new lubricator is to be known as the R.P. Mechanical Multipoint Lubricator. It will replace the former R.P. Mechanical lubricator, but the air and vacuum operated types will continue to be made. These latter are less costly to manufacture and where they are suitable for use, will continue to provide efficient automatic chassis lubrication. In fact, as will be described below, they are particularly valuable for trailer lubrication, working in conjunction with the new lubricator which is fitted to the vehicle chassis.
