Abstract
Recently held in Birmingham was the first Symposium of the Survival and Flight Equipment (SAFE) Europe organization, which was accompanied by an exhibition of many of the products detailed in the papers. It was arranged in sessions dealing with Head‐mounted Equipment, Safety in Civil Operations and two sessions concerned with different aspects of Aircrew Life Support Equipment. Summaries of the papers are included here. The full texts will be reported when they become available.
