Abstract

A Robotic cell, designed and manufactured by 600 Fanuc Robotics Ltd., of Colchester, (Essex), and installed into British Airways at its maintenance base, London Airport, (Heathrow), for the loading/unloading of flight recorder cassettes into, and out of, tape readers, has so radically increased the overall effficiency of the operation that only four readers are now needed to carry out work that previously required 16.
