Abstract

Details of Some Components Used for Subsidiary Services in Aircraft, Missiles and Space Vehicles. Latest of the range of F. L, Douglas (Equipment) Ltd. aircraft handling tractors is the Douglas Tug‐master type NS4. Designed to handle light aircraft, the type NS4 is powered by a 4 cylinder diesel Perkins 4,203 with a power of 60 b.h.p. at 2,400 r.p.m. and a torque of 151 lb. ft. at 1,350 r.p.m. Maximum speed is 18 m.p.h. and maximum drawbar pull is 6,000 lb. The type NS4 has a wheelbase of 54 in. and a weight of 3 tons.
