Abstract

This report gives a theoretical method for calculating the natural frequencies and modes of vibration of an aircraft in which wing movement predominates, particularly for cases in which one or more engines are carried by each wing. The solution obtained is applied to a four‐engined aircraft and the numerical results given. Various artifices have been introduced to shorten the labour involved and to reduce the method to a routine.
