New R.A.F. Types X: The Consolidated Catalina Long‐Range Reconnaissance Flying Boat

Abstract

The Catalina has been in service with the U.S. Navy, under the number PBY‐5, for many years. The first example for the R.A.F. was flown across the Atlantic in July, 1939.
