Abstract

PARTICULARS have recently been released of the new Wickman‐Hollroyd spar‐boom horizontal milling machine which is being manufactured by A. C. Wickman Ltd., of Coventry. This tool is made in three forms: as a plain single‐spindle machine; as a single‐spindle miller with vertical “in‐feed” to the cutter; and as a duplex horizontal milling machine. Figs. 1, 2 and 3 show the three types respectively. It will be seen that the three versions are basically the same, each having a substantial bed and a travelling cutter saddle. The following are the principal characteristics for the three types:
