Abstract
WE publish in this issue a survey of some of the principal types of aeroplane in use in the Red Air Fleet—as, we understand, the air force of the U.S.S.R. is officially described. Regular readers may remember that in January, 1935, we published an article on the progress of Russian aeroplane development from the early days of 1912 up to that time. To that article the present one forms a supplement, as it in effect carries on the story to the present day. It also follows topically on the description of the chief machines of the German Air Force which appeared last month.
