Abstract
A device for preventing fire due to back fires from internal combustion engines comprises a chamber 1 which is fitted to the air inlet of the carburettor. The chamber is fitted with baffles 3, 4 which form pockets facing towards the carburettor and the free edges of which overlap or lie in the same vertical plane. The baffles are spaced sufficiently to ensure passage of the entire normal supply of air to the engine, even if rime, etc., is deposited in the chamber. In modifications, additional bafiles are arranged centrally of the chamber.
