The “Kahn” System of Map Projection: A Method of Cartography Preserving the Characteristics but Remedying the Defects of Mercator's Scale

Abstract

IN the course of the receptions which were organised in Paris at the Palais d'Orsay and the Luxembourg, in honour of Costes and Bellonte, the chief of the Government associated the name of M. Louis Kahn with those of M. Bréguet, the builder of the “Point d'Interrogation,” of M. Birkigt, who constructed the Hispano engine, and of General Delcambre, director of the Office national météorologique.
