Abstract

IN reporting the final result of the International Touring Competition, a German newspaper commented adversely on the fact that Captain Broad, flying a “Gipsy Moth,” who arrived first at the end of the actual flying circuit, could only receive for the performance a maximum of 195 points out of a “possible” of 500 for the whole competition, and should drop to eighth place during the subsequent marking for practical qualities and technical tests.
